Another thing you need to consider, is this just going to be a show dog or are you thinking that you may some day breed her? The puppy that may be the best starter show dog may not be the best choice if you are thinking this may also become your foundation bitch.

I was looking at the AKC event search for shows in my area and the "number competed last year" confuses me a little. For example…
Competed Last Year: 42
14-15-(5-4)-4What does the set of numbers mean? Are these numbers in particular classes and/or divided by sex? I couldn't find an explanation in the event search help.

Thanks, I would not have guessed that. I was trying to fit in puppy, open, specials, etc.
