    Hi–I have the most adorable and cute 8 mo old girl. She is so cute people literally stop their cars and get out to say hi to her, and I can't leave a store without her causing ooohs and ahhhhs! I need to go overseas for an opportunity, and want to find her a great home. I have tons of pictures I can share. She's small, dish face, gorgeous liquid brown eyes. Let me know if you'd like to see the pix.

    I agree, BRAT does get in pairs and ask they be adopted together plus BRAT works really hard to ensure placement are suitable and going to good homes. If your looking for a basenji savvy home them I would say "yes, getting the fanconi test will help getting them placed"…anyone not savvy or not caring to know about basenji genetic conditions won't care if theyre tested or not)

    Please consider fostering-it is joy to help a Basenji! I have fostered two in the last few years-one a young Basenji who had pups at a shelter and an elderly female whose owners were going into an assisted care facility and were going to have her euthanized within a few days if not rescued. The elderly girl lived a few more years-just shy of her 17th birthday. She had never lived with other dogs before and she was fine with my pack-but my dogs knew that she was older and wanted to be left alone. She was spunky though and would nip at them if they got out of line! If I was not having health problems, I would foster one! Jennifer

    I wanted to get Roo but I have a couple family members that have been ill and don't want to have to board a newly arrived furry friend. So … we will wait to adopt again.

    @Jennifer: Thank you! I am in Fairfield about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. I dont have any pics of her…sorry :( I would contact BRAT and some of the local shelters, as I said many are No Kill Shelters….. Good luck
