Cute pup. She has all the markings of a basenji. Sometimes a little mix of another breed in her is good. It will help with not having the genetic problems basenjis have.

I got my dehydrator at a farm & fleet store for about $50. It is basic but has temperature. I make a lot of jerky now. It is really easy. Beef jerky from ground beef is my favorite. I can make sticks of it which can be broken or cut up easily into training treat sized pieces. I highly recommend getting one. Plus you can use it too.

Yeah that's what i thought….i thought it'd be kind of weird to have to boil them first.

BRAT did win last week in the weekly drawing (I think it was $1000)! Let's move them up to top place for the grand prize: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/shelterchallenge.faces?siteId=3 Vote every day until December 20 (when the challenge ends).

Sanitized bone should be fine… however like you said, these days I would not trust the "goo"... .... especially now that they have found that for many of the foods that "claimed" they didn't have rice, wheat, corn as the protein source, they really did.... or on the package it was listed as "protein source" that turned to be one of the above glutens...
