Dear friends!
Please tell the information about Beverly Capstick.
My friend will be her assistant in the ring, she is wondering what the judge likes in dogs, what kind of basenji she prefer - tall or small, and other things. What is the most important for her?
Thanks for answering!
I have always enjoyed showing to him with dogs of any color. He seems to put up a strong mover with good topline. My boy Xander won with him several times and he is a larger brindle boy.
@Borbasuk:
I have judged a couple of overseas specialties and have found my efficient and helpful stewards to be worth their weight in gold; they always are of course, but with an unfamiliar system and language this is even more true.:)
That is so true, a good ring steward is for sure worth their weight in gold regardless of the situation. I have nothing but the greatest respect for a good ring steward…... and I can image being in a situation that you are in a strange country with different judging procedures how much the judge would rely on the ring steward
@dmcarty:
I CAN tell you that SOMETIMES in SOME BREEDS - someone will use the dogs name if it's a well publicized call name just so the judge can here it. Most of us learn to tune that stuff out. I did have someone once use the entire name on the table "good dog kennel name first name rest of name" which was pretty stupid sounding and quite obvious - usually a LOOK is enough to stop it.
Oh my how VERY gauche. :)
@ChaseandZahrasmom:
Maya,
What state is your husband having surgery in?
We'll be in the DC/Baltimore Metro area, he's having surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital, but we're staying in Hanover, MD
