You can have some of the snow here! It has't stopped snowing in about a week now. When the dogs go out to chase the squirrel they are bounding through snow up to their backs!
LOL!! Yeah mine aren't too keen on getting it done. But I make them stay there. Is she used to being tipped on her back? I hold mine like a baby and rub their bellies. They like it, but they definately know when it is nail time and they both try to struggle. Eventually they give in and just resort to getting it done. After that they get a good treat!
Yeah she's kinda used it being on her back but the sound just made her go crazy haha.
We frequent a dog park/beach that is surrounded by water and our basenjis actually do go in the water now btw. Fiji will only get her feet wet - she used to jump backward when the waves came in. Bongo's basenji buddy Cairo will actually swim to chase a stick and Bongo is not far behind him. Go figure.
She is not a barker but does make noises kind of like purring sounds. I have heard her bark once or twice so I know she has a voice but it is very rare to hear it. She is extremely playful, alert and demanding she likes to bite/ chew everything and loves to find socks and bring them to us. She is smart and quick and a good jumper. She loves climbing on furniture. She cleans herself all the time (almost cat like). But I think her size and weight are already what a full grown basenji would be but she is only 5 months old.
I know she is not pure bred by any means but I do see some basenji in her.
