My dogs goggle it up and all are in good weight.

You should have considered that BEFORE you got a puppy.
If I was your breeder,I would have made sure that your girlfriend
was fine with a puppy.
My own opinion is no puppy,no girlfriend.

Instead of Prozac,I recommend 5-HTP and a calming treat given daily.

It's not the basenjis fault.
If you can't get a handle on your child,how can you every get a handle on your basenji.
I have chased many a family with unruly kids out of my house who wanted a basenji.
And, how many wonderful basenjis get rehomed because of these very issues.

Years ago I sold a pup to a hunter that hunted every year for grouse.
Little Maya not only was a great hunter but the other hunters with Brittanies all wanted to know where he got his great little hunting dog.

Basenjis for 45 years.
I have had Cancer,Aggression issues and Skin Issues
all caused from reactions to the rabies vaccine.
I'm not saying it happens with all b's but I have had it
happen.
Even had a nice pup die right after the shot.
Unless it happens to you,you wouldn't know.
To those that haven't had a problem,I'm happy for you
but I have had it happen,especially in my Avongara's.
In other breeds it is also very common,sad to say.

My dogs had vet exemptions.

When was your pup vaccinated for rabies.
Look up side effects of the rabies vaccine.
go to the dogs naturally website and look for
side effects.
Sudden aggression can and does manifest in
in dogs given the rabies vaccine,even if it was months ago.

One would hope that none of our precious Avongara's end up in shelters.
But, she is a beautiful pup.

I had a rescue basenji way back in 1981 who had this.
He was 8 years old and I thought for his own good to
send him over the Bridge as he was in way to much pain.
Sorry to hear this but I never let any of mine to suffer in pain.

Not likely basenji, I don't think there are many basenjis in China.
Not likely Shiba either, it's just a street dog.

Are you SURE it is an allergy .
When did your B have his last rabies shot ?
This happened to my Diva right after her rabies vaccination.
It took a full month before she was better.
Word of advice, stay away from rabies vaccine ,your B is 9,they are not needed.
Hope you live in a state that has exemptions.

Try elderberry syrup ( Sambucol ), mix with Manuka Honey and vit. C/mix together x 3 times a day.
Antibiotics won't work if it's a virus !
Shame on your vet.
Make sure your dog stays hydrated.
Also, oregano oil,it will kill the virus.
