If he is from Julie, then I may have had the honor of holding onto him ringside.

I just might recognize that pup. Does he live in Virginia?

RE: Basenji - Lymphoma Diagnosis and GI Issues
I have to say that I lost a four month girl to almost the same symptoms. Right down to the odd intestine part where it almost looked like it had telescoped or accordioned. Ultrasound revealed odd "dents" on her spleen and the intestine thing. We went to four excellent vets including Ryan Hospital at U Penn. we couldn't figure it out - no abnormal cells when they drew from the lymph node. We even went through most of those same Meds. She would get better- bloody diarrhea and diarrhea would go away but would come back after we weened her off the Meds. We heard this : these could be signs of cancer but we have never seen it in such a young puppy. We had to let her go the last time we went in because her systems were shutting down. The vet at U Penn asked if she could do a necropsy because they really wanted to know what took her little life. She had lymphoma. I hope and pray that your diagnosis turns out to be different. my puppy went down hill fast after we weened her off the prednisone.

Does your pup get better on the medications and then start to back slide when you ween her off the Meds?

RE: Basenji on Eukanuba package
My daughter had a dog while she lived there. Hoki was a little guy from the street and she brought him back with her. I don't remember her mentioning that it really cost that much more than here in the States. I don't believe she fed a really high quality dog food though. She might have had it mailed in. If you are interested I can ask her. I love Taiwan. Hope you are seeing some wonderful things.

RE: What do you feed your Basenji?
Blue Buffalo Wilderness, Orijen, and Eukanuba along with some raw mixed in. Treats include Sammy's treats, Iams biscuits, and those little cookies shaped like gingerbread men.

RE: Need to get bad pee smell out of my hardwood floor
We had the same problem. We put a nice thick layer of good quality kitty litter on it, covered it with a box and let it sit for quite a while. The smell is gone but we still have the grey/black marks where it seeped into the board.

Here's a photo of my dog that I found on Martha Stewart's Radio Blog. It was taken by Greg Kleva at the show. I didn't see Martha, but maybe Eva did!!

RE: Free to a good… no... free to a home. Any home.
Been there. My dogs tangled and chewed up two balls of sock yarn and a skein of alpaca!! I have to be very careful when I bring yarn into the house. Spencer is very sneaky and will try to get it even when it is far back from the edge of the counter!! One time he had so much of it wrapped around himself that I had to cut him out of it!! I only knit on my lunch break at work now…..
