Happy Holidays to all! My family adopted Reesie 4yrs ago from a local shelter. She was listed as a "Terrier mix"- mostly to tone down her obvious PIT-BULL heritage. I'm almost certain that she's PITBULL and most likely Cardigan Welsh Corgi… I joined the forum because I'm on the fence about BASENJI!! I managed a pet store during high school and feel head over heel for the breed. I've actually had arguements with some individuals that a "yodeling" dog is a myth... Reesie WILL bark, but usually prefers to almost "pucker" her lips up and make a "GROWRL" noise.
Even with her Corgi breastbone and little, stumpy legs, she can GLIDE right up onto of whatever table/counter she pleases! ( without crouching down and giving it a couple goes! She looks likes she's part REINDEER!!! LOL! ) What do you think?????

I have her photos up under an album on my account and in the Basenji Mix Group! I'm just figuring the site out. I'll try to get them over here!! I can't wait until I get input on her either way! Anytime anyone comes to our door, I get 2 questions. #1.) Does "IT" bite? ( grrr!) "Um, no, She doesn't" and then #2.) Oh, well then, " What is "IT"?

New to the Forum/pretty sure my rescue is part Basenji-Hi! My name is Angie E. I'm a mother of 3 beautiful kids, a pug-named Brutis and a Pitbull, Corgi, (and we think) Basenji mix- named Reesie. She doesn't "YODEL" ,but when she does bark she almost looks like shes trying to "pucker" her lips up and she'll do this growl thing. She grooms like a cat- both herself and the pug. She nibbles his fur with her front teeth like shes "FLEAING" him. And can leap picnic in a single glide! The Basenji breed is virtually unheard of where we live in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Hopefully, I can gain some insight through the forum and get some reassurance that our Reesie is ,in fact, the Basenji that we've ruled her out to be!! I look forward to meeting some new friends and talking to everyone!!
