I have a 1 year old female B that would love to play. Haven’t seen any Bs in this area. I live close to NOVA so if you set up a date I’ll gladly bring her to a dog park!
Virginia?

I know how you feel TuckerVA!! I have met maybe 5 basenjis here in Knoxville, TN, but Hollie has only had the pleasure of really playing with one of them. I too, would love to have playdates with other basenjis, but I gave up on that idea and just have playdates for any breed that wants to come!

TuckerVA…there's lots of people near you...The MidAtlantic Basenji Club has a bunch of members from your area. Some of us are getting together for the Old Dominion Dog Show in VA end of September. Maybe you can come by & say "hi"
I may even tag along for that trip to the Virginia show….....come by and say.....Hi!:D

Sept 28,29,30 They won't have the Basenji show times or ring numbers till closer to the show date. We'll try to post those when we can.

I don't have a B anymore , but I may wander down there and check out the doggies. I really miss my girl and it will be fun to see some other Bs again :). It's been really hard waiting for another B friend!!:o

I want to know more about it so I can plan to make the trip!! Hubby & I are really thinking we can make this one. Is this a fun match? Do we pay a fee? Will there be any off leash playing time? Can anyone give us an idea about what to expect? BBoy, where are you?? Are you going??

This is a three day Dog Show. It should only cost you to park. If you've never been to a show, it would be fun for you to see. Look for us in the parking area, we'll be set up like a camping site, we'd love to see you and the kids. As soon as I get the ring numbers and times I will post them.

9/30 Sunday ring 8 @ 8:00 am -
I'm still confused… These don't cost anything (but maybe to park)? We bring our dogs? What about chairs? Poopie bags? Is this indoors or outdoors? Is there anywhere to socialize off leash? How long is the event? We'd be there more to socialize...will there be vendors? If we go Sunday- what are the times?

Shows are different than "fun Matches", k-9 experiences and similar Kennel club events. This is an AKC conformation show (I think outdoors) and entered dogs are the only one's that are supposed to be there. I know people bring they're dogs to these shows and as long as they are under control, everything should be alright. Technically though, they could ask any unentered dog to leave….I would just keep them back away from the ring area and you should be ok. They take Jasper along, and he won't be entered.
You can bring chairs, the show doesn't last that long, but the gals will be there Fri, Sat and Sun camping out in the parking area, so please stop by and visit with them. Yes poop bags are the order of the day.:) I doubt there would be much off leash play time. The (MABC) Mid Atlantic Basenji Club will be on clean up duty for the show on Sunday, so they'll be doing plenty of scooping.:D
Plenty of vendors, lot's of shopping and some good deals.
If you go Sunday and want to see the Basenji's show, you'd want to be there by 8am. If you just want to go to walk around, talk to some folk and shop, you could go later. Normally after they show on the last day, it's pack up the wagons and head for home. They have clean up, so they will be there a little longer on Sunday than normal.
