Thanks for your reply! He is not male dominant at all – in fact, I have not seen him with any dog (male or female) that he didnt get along with. I have contacted BRAT and they have replied that they are going to talk to me this weekend and see about our next step. It is just soooooooo hard though. I want to cry every time I look at him because I love him very much and I just want him to have a good home with at least one dog he can play with. This has been the hardest decisionI have had to make in a very long time.

Hello all! It has been a long time since I have been on here. Hope all is well. I have some bad news though and was wondering if anyone could help. I have a tri boy who I adore plus two other rescues I got from BRAT (Dane was a Petland boy). My b's are the light of my life but unfortunatly I am going through a divorce and the new place I moved into only allows two pets max. I have felt like I am making the choice like Sophie did in the movie "Sophie's choice" because I have had to decide which b I needed to give up. Unfortunatly or fortunatly, depending on how you look at it, the dogs I got from BRAT have come a long way but still need me and Im afraid they would regress if rehomed. My boy Dane from Petland, however, has no issues (except for his occasional chewing when he is bored) and so I feel he would be the easiest to rehome. He loves to play play play. He gets along great with other dogs and is unuasually good at being off leash in secure areas. Would anyone in Southeastern Ohio be intereseted in taking him? He is up-to-date on all shots etc. I have contacted BRAT but thought I would put this out there on the Basenji forum as well. Thanks all!

She will grow into her care,,,,,,,,I had several experiences with people who didnt take care of themselves and the consequenses that followed and decided very early on that I did not want that to happen to me!!! Eventually my career even was affected by my diabetes because I now teach nutrition to high schoolers and just yesterday when we were talking about carbs I explained diabetes to them by showing them how I have to test my blood glucose (they couldnt believe I do that 6 times a day!!! ) and shots multiple times a day. Interesting tidbit– one of the teachers at our middle school was telling me that she has a 6th grader who was having a terrible time with his diabetes because he had both type I and type II!!!! Im not sure how that is possible but I guess there have only been 5 other cases like it diagnosed.

Just thought I would let you know I have diabetes also,,,,juvenile,,,,since I was 11,,,,,,,well its 24 years later and still no health problems or hospital stays. Hopefully this will make you reassured that if they take care of themselves they can lead very healthy lives. I know my mom was so scared when I was diagnosed during my 5th grade year,,,,,,,,,only now that I am a mother can I understand why when our 6th grade class was going to go on a three day annual camping trip my parents suddenly had scheduled a trip to Disney!!!! lol,,,,,,,,only in my adulthood did I put two and two together!!!

Yes,,,,,,,,,12 days!!!! We have had quite a bit of ice,,,,,,,,my husband is from Illinois though and he says we are just soft!! lol,,,,,,,,We, here in Ohio, get 5 days forgiven by the state so we have to make up 7 so far (hopefully no more though). Also, our school district goes several days over the required amount so we hope they will forgive a few more,,,,,,,my son is a senior and graduation has been moved to the following weekend already.

All three of mine LOVE the snow,,,,,,thank goodness because it has been snowing here quite a bit lately. I am a teacher and we have been off 12 days so far for snow and the b's wont hardly come in from outside when there is snow on the ground – so weird because they all cant stand the wet ground and rain.

Me too!!!!! I would LOVE to foster a dog but with the newest addition we got from BRAT I just dont think he would do well with another dog at this point.

Just got this email from BRAT about what sounds like a SWEET b-mix puppy. If I could I would go get him but I just cant do it now. His story made me cry. Hopefully someone close can rescue this poor baby.

Thanks Sharron! I didnt even think of sending info on a mix to BRAT. Hopefully she can go to a home that will love her. Let us know if anything happens.

We got a spray attachment for our shower and ours seem to kind of enjoy their baths now. I think the sound of the water coming from the bathtub faucet really freaked them out.

Ok,,,,,,I made the mistake of looking on petfinder and this little girls eyes just about made me cry – they have that same scared worried look that our Wrigley had when we first got him. Anyone in that area who may be interested can go to this website.

Dane, Bella and Wrigley to the rescue!!!!!!!!!! lol,,,,,,,my babies went CRAZY when they heard this! They all three were up on their hind legs by the computer willing to help their fellow b in need!!! lol,,,,,,,btw,,,,,,,such a cute puppy!!!

Our Bella seems to have thinning fur and its usual black color is turning brown. Could this be do to the harsh dry winter air or do you think something else could be going on?

We have three. The second we got to have a playmate for our first and the third we got because we fell in love with his pic on BRAT (I am no longer allowed to go to the BRAT website ,,,,lol). Three is definately challenging but they all get along most of the time and have given us endless hours of laughter and joy (as well as some very frustrating times!). If I had it to do over again I would definately do everything the same. Just make sure you have the time and resources for a 2nd b. Our first has had some vision problems and the others have to be vetted periodically and it can get a little expensive. Also, with two and three it almost takes two sets of eyes to keep track of them sometimes. One last tip,,,,if you do get a second ,,,baby gates are a must to keep them corraled!

Ours like Animal Planet, Dog Whisperer and that new show Dogtown,,,,,,,,,so funny when they go to the TV,,,,,,,stand on the TV table and try to get as close as possible to check out and sniff the strange animal that is in their living room!

Soooooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!!!!!! Makes me miss mine when they were pups!!!
