RE: Rimydal vs. Novox (generic)
Rimadyl or Rimakill as I call it is dangerous drug.Go to SR DOG.COM and read all the deaths from this drug.
I would never give it under any circumstance, but that is me.I would hate to see anymore names added to the memorials. -

RE: Quinn at the Bridge
I'm so glad to have had the short time with Quinn. He was a pleasant old soul and I feel that I gave him at least the love and caring that was missing in his life.
I had such a vivid dream about him last night and it seemed like he was saying to me that he was greatful for the time we had together.
I buried him along a wonderful treeline along a huge meadow. It's the farm I work at,it is all land in farm preservation,so will never be developed. He is buried alongside the others I lost since Jan.
My sweet Victor,my wonderful Stella,Buddy(my Buddy boo boo man),and my Shadow(and she was).
Farewell my friend
I'll see you at the Bridge.

Update on Quinn
Please pray for Quinn as I now find out that he has a very serious case of Lymes disease. He is not a happy camper and I'm trying really hard to make him comfortable. He has trouble walking as his wrist joints are so swollen.Have him on high dose antibiotics and arnica for pain.
I fear that his time with me is short, but I can only hope that the time he has had with me was more then he got from his last owner.
I now know why he was discarded.Kathryn and all the

RE: Basenji Tattoo
I saw that clip because I watch LA INK all the time. I also have two tattoos, one of my dear departed Thunder, its his paw print on my heart. The other is of him running full out from a photo that was taken at a LGRA meet.
Now that Thunder is gone, his pawprint(it really is his pawprint) comforts me everytime I look at it.Kathryn D.Ladick

RE: Senior boy needs a new home
Pat,
Yes,I think that his leaking might have been a reason that his owner didn't want him anymore. That and he is on meds for seizures.I haven't test stripped him yet but his father is affected, don't know about mom.He doesn't drink to much and he only leaks at night.A male wrap is like a diaper for a male dog,it just goes around there waist with a pad inside. They're great for keeping males dry.

RE: Senior boy needs a new home
Would like everyone to know that Quinn is already settled here and making himself at home.He loves to eat the raw diet that I feed here and I'm sure that he will put on some much needed weight. He seems to be a sweet little soul and sits and looks lovingly too me for a cookie.
My other B's seem to except him especially Classy who has found a quick friend.
He is no trouble at all and the little bit of meds he takes is no problem and at night he wears a male wrap for leaks. All in all,I will give him the much needed TLC that he deserves.Kathryn and all the

I'm having a problem with transport for Quinn.I can't drive to get him and need someone to deliver him. I could drive to meet someone but not a long way as I'm not a happy driver.

RE: Senior boy needs a new home
Theresa,
I'm really happy to be taking Quinn in.Although I have many other B's,I felt like this was something I had to do.You see,I will tell you all a sad story.About 8 years ago,I got a call from basenji rescue. My friend, Barbara told me that one of my pups that I sold almost 13 years ago was in rescue and would I take her back. The first think I told her was why wasn't I contacted by the people? They knew that they signed a contract to return the dog if they couldn't keep her anymore. It was told to me that they didn't want to call me.Reason for the return-They where now pregnant and didn't want a dog around there baby. So,they got her when she was 8 weeks old and now all these years later, she wasn't wanted because of a human child coming into the picture.I'm sorry, but that is not a good enough reason for me!
Sad part about Indy, that was her name, was when I got her back she was so depressed that she wouldn't eat and after a month of this, and believe me I tried everything(chicken, etc.) I decided that she was telling me that she wanted to leave. So, after many weeks of crying over this poor, depressed B,I sent her over the Bridge.I felt it was the only thing I could do.
I did have someone that would have taken her and tried with her,but couldn't get a transport! The people who where involved should have been ashamed of themselves, they sent her to her death.I just couldn't see her starving herself anymore. So, I will try to make Quinn happy in memory of my Indy.

RE: What do you do…?
I work on a Quarter Horse Breeding Farm.We breed Appendix and straight Quarter Horses. They are all Hunter under Saddle horses and I do all the ground work with the young horses.Handling when they are just foals and then working with them to get ready to be broke to ride.
It's alot of work as I also do all the barn work as I'm also the farm manager.
If that wasn't enough I also work at my friends poodle kennel 2x a day, helping with kennel chores and grooming. Then I also dog sit for 2 JRT everyday,(I just let then out)there dad works 3-11 shift and they need to get out before then.
Then I come home and take care of my crew of B's.
I wish there where more hours in a day!Kathryn D. Ladick
