Alex, first, thank you so much for organizing this community and shouldering the cost. It's been really helpful for me as I prepared to get a Basenji and now, as I have one.

Please keep us posted as to how we can support, I'll also look out for the Patreon link. If it becomes too much to maintain this site, the only other idea I can think of is maybe moving the forum to a Facebook Group?

Greetings everyone, my name is Tyra and I am a first-time dog and Basenji owner. My Basenji is Amahle Kai, she's almost 2 years old and I got her from Maringa Basenjis. She is, like many Basenjis, quite the character. I love getting to know her more and more every day. We reside and like to explore the DMV area. I was delighted to find this forum and am looking forward to learning from many of you here. Photos to come in the Show Off Your Dog Forum!

Additional details: Hi folks! Amahle has been missing her litter mates since I got her and doesn't play much with other dogs when I take her to local parks. Although I haven't had the chance to socialize her a ton due to the pandemic, she was socialized at an early age and gets along fine with other dogs. I'm hoping that taking her to a MeetUp with other Basenjis will get her more active, less lonely, and looking forward to outdoor time. We're located in Central Maryland and hoping to meet up (masked and socially distant) with other Bs in this area but are also willing to meet folks halfway if you're a little outside of this area and want to join.
