Does anyone have any ideas for my pulling Basenji when we go on walks? He is 1 1/2 and still gets so excited on his walks. By the time I get home my fingers are blue.
Thanks!

I hope it does, we started the switch this morning. Boy, does he love eating now. Starting him off slow of course.
Thanks for all your thoughts. We are going to vet again this next wee. I will ask about the tyroid panel. It's just very frustrating and expensive.
Hello to my fellow Basenji owners!
I am new to the forum and have a question about my Basenji. We have a 15 month old male basenji. We got him at 7 mo. and had him neutered and had an umbilical hernia removed. Ever since then we have struggled severly with a terrible dry rash all over his belly and is moving to under his legs and he is losing lots of hair now even on his ears?? This is a list of things we have tried already….
Tried Neosporin and it takes it away but comes right back, took him to vet and was tested for flies/mites. He was then given Antibiotic and prednisone. Worked but came back. Tried "Genisis" spray. Worked but comes back. Changed his food from Eukunuba to Iams. No such luck, went back to Eukunuba. Give him bottled water now and switched vets. New vet suggested Fish oil in food. Did that, nothing happened. Going back to vet again next week. Does anyone think he could have been allergic to whatever they used to stitch him up?? First and second vet do not think so. This all started after his surgery, he was perfect before that. Help!!
