I,m not looking for a better experience I was just wandering if Basenjis will die from Lepto like the breeder said or the vet is wrong!
The 5 way shot we give him does not have it in it, the vet said a dog could get lepto just by sniffing urine from racoons or skunks! And he should be vaccinated I told himm I would pass on it!

I was told by my breeder not to vaccinate for Lepto, because Basenjis cannot have Lepto shots. The 5 way shot she gives them is all they need.
My vet today told me thats not true, is that a common vaccine for a house dog or not. I dont trust any vet, I go cause I'm force to.

Good for you, I have no intentions of ever getting a Brat not even for free which they are not. Thanks for the comment though.

Looking for red and white male to replace my 13 year old that just passed.
1 or 2 year old prefferably housebroken. My wife and myself no kids and no other pets in the home.
I have looked at at Brat but don't like anything I saw.Prefer to buy one from a breeder. That is my choice thank you, any breeder leads will be apreciated:)

Our 13 year old, just past we loved him very much and want to replace him, with a purebreed pup or young adult.

Thank you for all the comments, and specially for the tip on Potassium Bromide, my wife will be talking to the vet about it, seems much less harmful to the dog from all I read on the internet.

My wife loved the Chiya website beutiful dogs, our guy is 13 and my wife is already thinking about another.
But I'm the one walking in the rain, and freezing in zero degree weather here in Chicago walking this guy, and 6 a.m. even on weekends. No thanks.

My vet recomended phenobarbitol for my 13 year old having seizures evry few weeks. All his bloodwork came back OK and he is not spilling sugar so the vet said Fanconi has nothing to do with his seizures and it's rare anyway.
Has anyone had good luck using this stuff?
And my biggest concern are side effects?

My basenji is 13 and started having seizures once a month.
The vet said all the blood and urine test seem ok.
This last seizure caused a lot of peeing afterwards, every half hour.
Has anyone had this problem at 13, and is it kidney or thyroid?
He eats fine, not a lot but ok. Enova
