My b doesn't (usually) pull so I can't say for sure, but even at its tightest, the collar won't cut off air entirely. The tightness of the collar is limited; if you order one of the custom ones from Long Dog, you get to specify the smallest circumference of the collar. I would imagine a wide leather collar to be preferable to a thin nylon one for a puller, just because it won't chafe or cut into his neck as much.

RE: New greyhound style collar working great!
A WONDERFUL, and I mean awesomely fantastic, website for getting martingale collars is http://longdogleather.com/. They are great collars. Personally I ordered from their ready-to-wear section here since I couldn't handle all the choices for building a custom one. I love these collars because our basenji figured out how to back out of his collar while on a leash and thought it was a great game. I plan to buy all my future martingales from Maureen and the Long Dog Leather crew.

Camden, DE female Basenji mix
Beautiful girl. I went to see her but do not have a place for her for two months, otherwise I would take her home. I would confidently say she is part Basenji, she has the white paws, does not bark, and has a very Basenji personality. She is characteristically aloof and walks very well on a leash, seems housebroken. She does have mange. She was an owner surrender and came in with fleas and mange lesions. I am not sure she's part pit, because she is very lean and muscled somewhat like a greyhound. I hope someone can give her a wonderful home. Well, I wish that I could, but it's a very long shot she'll still be available come May.
