Soda stomps a little, too. This morning though, he was invited (more like air-lifted, HAHA, he is way too small to get up himself) up onto the bed… and he thought it was time for play, not snoozy cuddles. Little guy starts 'punching' me in the head and shoulders with his little paws to get my attention!
Lucky he's so cute and warm in the mornings or I would have been veeery grumpy about such an awakening.

RE: Meet Soda (Pic heavy!)
Hi Robyn - That's awesome, I can't believe how many 'relatives' he has on the forum.

RE: Meet Soda (Pic heavy!)
Thanks all!
lvoss - I like that, about him melting in the rain! We took him outside for a bit yesterday, and boy, did it ever take a lot of treats to get him through the slush.
I knew Cole was his sire but I didn't know he had such a strong family connection to your dogs - thank you. He's beautiful and lovely and obviously comes from a long line of sweet basenjis.
The theme for the litter was Dream, so I think we're going to go with Habaris Enchanted Once Upon a Dream. Not entirely sure though! -
RE: Meet Soda (Pic heavy!)
Thanks everyone!
Marie, I can't believe how confident this little guy is! I'm so thankful I found this forum and took the time to find such a wonderful breeder. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, I mean he has to do SOMETHING bad eventually, right?
Fran, I love that song actually! I keep singing it to him, not sure if he appreciates my beaaaautiful voice. We called him Soda because he is fizzy and fun and bad for your health (because of all the sweetness ) -
RE: Meet Soda (Pic heavy!)
Here are some videos of Soda and our old kitty Jersey being cute. They're pretty boring for everyone except us HA.

RE: Meet Soda (Pic heavy!)
He is out of a co-bred litter by Habari Basenjis and Enchanted Basenjis. I flew all the way to Ontario to get him and he was so great on the plane.

Meet Soda (Pic heavy!)
Soda has been here since ridiculously early Monday morning, and since then he has been nothing but a joy, we've just been enjoying every second. He always uses his potty box (he sometimes hangs a little over LOL but that's not really his fault) he chews his toys, he cuddles and naps and just is basically the nicest little pup I've ever met. He had his first vet visit yesterday and passed with flying colours and gave the nice lady zero fuss. Thanks to his breeder, he's not afraid of anything or anyone so far. He smells perfect… I didn't realize how much I would like the way he smells! Everyone thinks I'm nuts. He gets along well with the kitties, they're pretty savvy and don't run unless they wanna play. I hate to brag, but I think he may be the cutest widdle puppy in the whole wide world. At least, that's what he tell him!
But anyway... I know what you people want.. PICTURES!! So here you go. After a wholeee year, I finally have my own little lovely to show off.
On a Mission
What do you mean, too big for me??
Dalmatian feeties??
Sleepy boys on ugly couch
Soda LOVES his Sheltie friend Link. He especially loves brushing Linky's long fur… with his teeth.
Aren't I cute?

RE: Looking for basenji female.
I don't know what to think. I'm pretty sure it's a troll.
Can we get the board closed? -
RE: More puppies and more cuteness!

Gorgeous pictures of some gorgeous dogs. What kind of camera are you using?

RE: Could she be a basenji?
Welcome to the forum! What a cutie, I can't fathom what sort of person would leave a dog on the side of a road!! She's lucky to have you.

RE: Cute Blog Post
Ohh, I love that blog. I wish she updated more but quality over quantity and her posts never ever fail to make me laugh.

This is another one about her dogs. It laughed so hard I thought I might choke. -
RE: No such thing as a Basenji
Thanks, I'll have to check the vids out! They look like big fluffy bears, I don't know if I could handle the fur but it would certainly be an adventure for any owner, haha.
I guess it's not shocking someone would think to use such a big strong dog for such a "sport" but of course that's hardly any indication of what having one as a companion would be like. Lots of the dogs known historically for dog fighting can make amazingly loyal pets. I had just never heard of Ovcharkas before and was surprised to see such… open discussion about dog fighting, I guess. But anyway. Thanks for the links! It's always interesting to learn about different breeds.

RE: Pippin is here…now ..pictures..:)
Congratulations! What a good boy, I can barely keep from whining on flights.

RE: No such thing as a Basenji
I had to look up the Ovcharka and found myself on a dog fighting forum, it was like, the third result.
Gorgeous dogs, but what heart breaking abuse, wow. I didn't know people actually still did that. -
RE: Run for glory
Oh wow, is someone cutting an onion in here???
What really got me was the way each of them look at their handlers after the run… "Did I do okay?!"
I love the way the older guys flew over the teeny little fences proud as peaches.
Your Digital is a beautiful boy. Lovely video, thanks for sharing! -
RE: Pippin is here…now ..pictures..:)
Awww he is precious! I love seeing all the new babies this year! I bet you can't wait to have him settled.

RE: Basenji Vs Rhino Beetle
Aweee what a cutie. I agree with Tlish about being grateful to live somewhere free of bugs that big. I seriously believe all Australians are superhumans for not shrieking every time they encounter a bug like that. How on earth did you get it back into the tree??
