I have emailed and am talking with LIZ from BRAT she is going to find the right home. I am going to miss her - but I know it's best to give her to someone with more time. She DESRIVES that much. She a great girl and i love her so much, but I know she will be better off with someone who can not only give her exercise but also enough to keep her mind busy and happy since they are so smart. they need more then most puppies.

thanks for your help and no she was not going to refund the Money. I just don't trust her now. I am going to keep her or find someone on my own to take her and care for her the correct way. I think she is happy - she just does not get to run much and she loves to run and play. Thanks again for your help.

No you do not have a bad Puppy just there are tests you can do because reeder did not do her job correctly. Your puppy is part of your family and you have a good puppy you love it and care for it. A bad puppy or dog is because of people (humans) we do not do our job.

oh I see - Yes she is a good puppy - thanks for all your help. I am going to talk to my boy and make sure she plays more with her - he told me last night that YOU CAN't GET rid of family mom and he is right cuz that is what I have also told him. So we will do our best to make sure she gets more play time.

So you think it will be okay to let her use the puppy pads again. Will she ever not need to pee on the puppy pads?

I do play with her in the morning and at night and My boy does some so I guess she will be fine - I was just worried becuase she does not seem to want to get potty trained.

Koda is not brindle so maybe JUST maybe she was talking about another litter??? I still don't think I want her getting her back to make a profit again. I want to know she was giving to someone to love her.

OMG she totally LIED TO ME. I am not giving my baby girl to her. AGHHHHHHHHHHHH I am going to do the best I can to make it work. I got home last night and she is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute I can't stand her to go somewhere I don't know. IF I can not find someone I know to take her then I will keep her.

I am trying to figure out the best thing to do about the potty traing and peeing in her kennel. At 6 months old she shoudl be able to go at least 4 hours and it seems she can not. Should I start at square one again and try putting her in a smaller room like the bathroom with a potty pad and her kennel and let her roam in there and be able to go in and out of her kennel?

Also her kennel is in the landry room with the cat box - do you think this is why she wants to eat the cat poop? Do you think if I did not have her in the same room as the cat box she would stop eating the poop?

Also, My son is going to be away for 2 to 3 wks with so I neigbhor is going to come let her out a couple time during the day. but at least 3 days ech week she will not get any play time since I work LATE.

Am I being toally mean to her if she only get a little play time a day? My boy last night said he lets her out to play in the house at least 2 times maybe not for long but at least it something?

I am so afaid that I am being mean to her since I am not there much. I love her so much and she is soooooo cute and a cuddle bug at night. I want her to be a good well rounded happy dog.

She is from MN. Sweeter pets.com - I am just trusting that she will do the right thing and give her to a good home. What else can I do. I want to get a good home where she will be as loved and I am, but with someone who will give her the excerise etc… that she needs.

What was your plan originally? Was the dog for your boy? Do you not want to spend time with her? Why don't you take her out for walks together?

I do want to spend time with her - but I work 3 jobs now and when I got her I did not. Yes she was for the boy but he said he would spend time with her and all he does is let her out to pee and play for 20 mins then he is off with friends. I get home most night at 10pm during the week and then we go to bed. So she only see me some nights and on weekends - She sleeps with me at night and is a little cuddle bug. But I still feel like she more playtime that I can not give her. I am so upset about the whole thing and made at myself for thinking my son would be better. Kids just wanna play not take care of a puppy when he want to play with friends.

No not yet - I am thinking I will give her back to the breeder becuase she said she knows someone who will take her.:(

She is in her kennel on and off during the day and night up to 12 hours. My boy lets her out but not for long before he is off again playing, so I have decided that maybe a good idea to find a new home for her. I feel horrible about it but I don't want her to become sad or a bad dog becuase of not having enough time to play.

OKay - I talked with the breeder and she said she will take her and give her to someone who can care for her better and I think that is what I should and will do. AGH thanks

I am a new Basenji owner of a 6 month baby girl and I love her so much. she is funny and playful yet a little devil too. I am confessed about if I am rasing her right or not - since I have had her and she is still not fulling potty trained and she is not a very good listener.:eek:

Hi and thanks for your tips. Yes I do take her out before kenneling and I clean up the mess good but my son does not. He is the one home more then I am. She does just fine at night.

I have more question I hope you guys can help, I am starting to think it was a bad Idea for me to get her. She needs more then I Thought and my son is not helping as I thought he would.

If she is going in her kennel alot will she also do this?

How do I get her to stop eating the Cat Poop?

What do I do about her getting crazy and stealing our food when we eat dinner. I do not want to kennel her at dinner time since she is in there WAY to much during the day - but she can't take no for an answer. Silly dog.

Also, I work 3 jobs so she is in her kennel alot more now - My son let's her out every 2 to 4 hours but is still in there ALOT. How bad is this for her. Do you think I should maybe find her a new home. I Love her and she is a great dog, but I feel she is not getting all the training, exercie etc.. she needs and devervse?

I have a female 6 month old basenji and I love her LOTS - but I can not seem to get her to stop going potty in her kennel and pooping in the house. *

Can you give me any tips? She is only in her kennel at most 4 hours and still goes potty. *some times only in 2 hours. *I have had her at the vet and they said she has not health issues. I think she just thinks "well if I go potty they will let me out" *it concerns me cuz she is lying in it to? *HELP please
