KamasMama
Kamalani was rescued in late March 2019. Kamalani had a really deep cut across the front of her neck from being tied up for too long. A rescue organization helped us get her surgery and we fostered her. One couple attempted to adopt her last May. Kamalani refused to drink water for several days and food for nearly a week. I was called by the rescue organization to pick her up on day 12, after the couple hadn’t seen her take a bowel movement. After that, we saw she clearly needed more time to heal before being adopted out. However, I’ve just fallen in love with her and we’re keeping her. She’s completely attached to me, and my partner is slowly growing on her (and visa versa, I’d say). She loves our 17 year old pit bull mix and loves our cats. We only confirmed she has some basenji in her, at our last vet appointment, from my vet. Kamalani seems to have many of the qualities described on this forum and I’m hoping to learn all I can about this breed.
