there are people looking for "Non allergy dogs" for their kids or grandkids. Unfortunately,others say "get a Basenji!".Too many people think they are "normal" dogs and soon find out they require a little more than a "normal" dog.

the household. We are getting(hopefully) a 5 year old female and have a 5 year old boy at home. The boy will be with the sitter while we go overnight to get the girl. I need help with introducing them. Our boy is very mellow and has had other B's for compnay before. The female is also mellow-they say- and likes other dogs. Any ideas? Bring the girl home first and then go get the boy?

Glad you found us! I have a lovely rescue Basenji from Sweden red and white.

my side of the bed. He has a dresser beside him,a bed on one side and a wall on the other. He loves his bed! At 830pm every night-he goes running to bed.

We are able to leave him alone now and not in a crate.I leave the TV on for him and after a little howling-he quietens down. I hide frozen chicken weiner pieces all over the place and he finds them when I leave. I keep note as to where and how amny I leave out.

some times-it wakes me up!
He is very polite and rarely burps.When he breaks wind he runs from the room all embarrassed.

but always takes a few pieces out and lays them out for the carpet God.
he used to have food issues,but is now nonchalant about his food.

he is in his guard dog mode.Only one Woof and then he growls.

Rye Toast with Marmalde,Ju Jubes,Spaghetti,any seafood and he will start to whine if we have mashed potatoes and do not give him any.

I am from BC,Canada and am on my 3rd Basenji.This little boy is a Rescue originally from Sweden. His name is Max Mattias-Farolands Trademark To Terrarust. I managed to tack down his originally owner and breeder and found all of his lineage and family.
