@aprilmaymac That is definitely a Basenji pose. He sure looks like a Basenji mix to me. My Basenji mix is also the first one to bed and the last one up. Enjoy, they are uniquely wonderful dogs.
My Basenji mix has been eating Orijen Original for over three years and his stool is normal. I can tell when he eats something different, (visiting relatives) because then his stool is soft and mushy and hard to pick up.

@dagodingo It's normal for the ears of pups to be floppy. My Basenji mix was the same. In fact one ear came straight earlier than the other and it looked so cute. Now they are both up.
I would definitely say that he has Basenji in him. We have a Basenji mix and without a doubt, he's the smartest, stubbornest and most loving dog we have ever had. He is three years old now, and when he was a puppy, my wife and I would joke about returning him for warranty work.
Your puppy is adorable and I'm sure you will love and enjoy him, as much as we do ours.
He most definitely has Basenji mix in him and he's a beautiful dog.
My Basenji mix as a puppy was a nightmare to train. He's the smartest dog we've ever had and is a pure joy to be with now.
My Basenji mix's tail only really curls when he is on red alert. At that time his Basenji mohawk appears as well.
Re: Do your male basenjis squat to pee?
Our Basenji mix, Bailey, squat peed until he was almost 2 yrs old. Now he lifts his leg to mark and squats or stretches mostly to pee.
Recently, we were at a dog park and he lifted his leg to mark a fence. He has no pee left, so with his leg lifted he pooed instead. It was hilarious!
