pretty sure akc registered, ill get back to you as soon as i can, ill have to find out for sure if it was 1 month, but im absolutely positive that hes a purebreed basenji. besides the fact that hes not very bright, he got out once and chased a car down the street, ive read somewhere that basenjis like to chase cars.

RE: Startup Costs
i forgot actually before i registered to this forum, but i know that it was a place in oklahoma. his name supposedly was "marymail" before i got him. that probably sounds like a load of bull to you doesnt it? im also fairly sure that they only breed basenjis.

Hey everybody, may post video of pilot
i also understand my previous misownership of him, but hes much better and hes extremely healthy. he isnt as alpha as he was against my rottweiler.
my rottweiler is finally getting hip problems and pilot understands that and gives him space, so im pretty proud of him. were also going to get pilot fixed.
he still needs just a little work on house training. a mild hurricane hit our house and knocked our fence over which leads straight to a hill, which at the bottom is the highway. so he cant go outside the backyard. anyway id just thought i would let you know how he is doing and that youll finally get to see him. -

RE: Not the the size of the dog, its the size of the fight in the dog
what i do is pet them at the same time and try to be affectionate towards them at the same time and that seems to work, i do actually make him leave the couch sometimes but usually i do what i mentioned above

RE: Not the the size of the dog, its the size of the fight in the dog
yeah hes been through training and obedience never pees or poops in the house unless locked in for a LONG period of time, has a getting into trash problem but hes a young pup, my rottweiler got into trash too when he was little. we train him weekly and i think i need to step it up a big notch.
he also has a jealousy problem when the rottweiler comes to play, pilot will get mad and to do the same, or when pilot is sitting with me on the couch the rottweiler passes by and pilot acts alert and gives him a small nip -
RE: Not the the size of the dog, its the size of the fight in the dog
he is not notorious for biting people, but he tries to be alpha with the bigger rottweiler, the rottweiler doesnt do anything but lets him know hes boss by growling but never biting, sometimes play biting though, no serious biting, i dont think pilot was actually trying to bite me i think he was playing but still it hurt.
