Hi everyone,
Don't know if I put the three photos in the right place, but look for them under Member Galleries. Isn't he a handsome dog? He's doing GREAT, by the way.

Congo came home to live with us yesterday after everything went great at the vet. He walked in, found my husband's Persian carpet and pooped on it. (The rug was quickly removed and stored elsewhere.) (-;
Since then we've had no other accidents and we are all getting used to each other.
He's very calm, which is quite a surprise to me, since he's only 9 months old. He is more cautious around the kids than I was expecting, but they are being patient.
We're busy. It's definitely a lot like having a new baby.
I'll try to post photos soon. He's so handsome! My husband said while walking him, "Now this is a dog a man could be proud to walk!"

www.basenjirescue.us is the website address for Americas Basenji Rescue, but I was not able to access the website well–-it kept bumping me off. I emailed the director directly: keathrhymer@yahoo.com.

Congo is at Americas Basenji Rescue in loving hands.
We looked at a gorgeous 9 month old Basenji rescue in Indianapolis on Friday, and if all goes smoothly at his vet appointment Tuesday, he will come join our family next week. Our kids have been asking for a dog for 4 years, but think they're not getting one until Christmas. This is hopefully going to be a very fun week. I'll post a picture of "Congo" soon, assuming all goes as planned.

Thanks for the welcome posts and well wishes. I am actually going to look at a Basenji rescue tomorrow in Indianapolis. I'll let you know if this works out!

Hi everyone,
My family and I are looking to adopt a 1-year old Basenji or older within Indiana or a surrounding state. We have three kids but they are kind to animals, (ages 7,6 and 4.) If you know of a Basenji in need of a loving home, but able to live with kids, please let me know. (We have no other pets.) We are registered with BRAT and thus waiting, but I'm exploring my options since I don't know if/when that will happen.
Thanks,
Paula
Hi everyone,
Unlike most of you, our family has just begun looking for the right Basenji to adopt. We've wanted a dog for 4 years, but have been waiting until the kids were a bit older. We live in Bloomington, Indiana and are looking for a Basenji rescue to bring home. We've filled out the BRAT adoption form and are waiting and searching at this point. Looking forward to learning from the forum!
