I told him to fill out an application for BRAT. I am not sure he has done it yet. He suggested 10 or older when he was talking to me.
Thanks so much,
Nicole

I have 2 basenjis, and my mom adopted a basenji from BRAT several years ago. Now my brother has decided he would like a basenji of his own as well.
He would prefer an older female.
He lives with his girlfriend in Oxford, MI. Both of his kids are past college, and his girlfriend shares custody of her 12-year-old daughter. He has a fenced yard.
if anyone knows of an older basenji looking for a retirement home, please let me know.
Thanks so much,
Nicole

He is up on CACC's tranfer page, which means he is not on the adoption floor, he is only available for other rescues to pull.
I don't have a dog with asthma, but I do have a cat with asthma. We have to close the windows and turn on the AC when she starts to get wheezy.
She gets pred when she is doing badly. We have the option of an inhaler for her, but we haven't gone that direction yet.
A lot of people who show have campers. Saves on the hotels when you travel to shows. They often set up several x-pens with tops for their B's.
We are looking into getting a camper ourselves.
Welcome Tessa and Diesel.
We have a great, active group in Wisconsin called BCOSW. Look us up at BCOSW.org.
Where is Diesel from? A lot of us are related by our basenjis.

There are some documented problems that occur with singleton puppies. They tend to not learn bite inhibition or frustration tolerance from their litter mates, so the breeder has to work extra hard to teach these things.
I swear by Kennel Aire crates. The 1 inch squares would make it harder to get his mouth in there to chew on the wires.
