Also, great website. As a first time dog owner, maybe a basenji will not fit me? I do not know, I am not discouraged…however they do seem like a pretty hard dog to be "getting my feet wet" with. I just don't know. I really feel like I can relate to the basenji, and I am very intrigued by their intelligence level. I am just so mystified by this animal, and would love to own one for my own personal benefit, as well as the dogs benefit I think we'd both teach eachother some new stuff!

And I am NOT choosing this dog because of allergies..there are TONS of dogs to pick from. I have done my research on basenjis and am aware (to an extent) of what I'm in for

Hello boards! I am VERY new to this forum, and VERY new to basenjis (and dogs in general) I fell in LOVE with basenji's after researching and watching some videos over the past few months. I have prepared my apartment (I've read basenji's are good dogs to have in apartments) for a basenji, and am ready to make the next step to obtaining a basenji. I am 22 years old, and live with one roomate. The dog will have plenty of exercise time as I go on daily run(S) and could use an exercise companion :). I would love to hear of anyone in the south carolina area with basenji's for sale.

Seeing as though this is my first dog, I thoguht maybe its a good idea to get a basenji already house trained to help me out a little bit!

Also, I am allergic to dogs..and have read that basenji's are a great pet to have for people with allergies like myself. Granted, I haven't put this to test yet. This is where I will ask you guys again for help! Anyone in the Columbia, SC area with a basenji ..or any breeders who would let me stop by and play with some basenji's to make sure they dont interfere with my allergies would be great!!!

I emailed you acquiring about the dogs. I'm interested in the black mail, or jozie. All three are beautiful! This will be my first dog, and my first basenji . Never been so excited in my life.

I have never owned a dog ! I have only owned a parrot. I am a 22 year old recent college graduate. I am looking for a pet to keep me entertained, and for me to have someone else to care for other than myself. I am a very loving person, and will tend to my dogs every need. I am very allergic to dogs, and have heard/found that Basenji's are great for people like me.
If you own a basenji in the Columbia area, and wouldn't mind me playing with them to make sure I can handle them without sneezing or wheezing..please PLEASE let me :).
