She is not too old to train, but even saying that, she is a basenji, and no matter the age, a bored basenji will find things to entertain herself, often things we would prefer she not touch. A companion helps, but even so, given temptation a basenji will usually go for it. Think "baby-proof" your house with a baby who can climb, leap, dig and chew. As said above by others, toys which present a challenge will also help.
A couple up-to-date photos of my year old boy.

Thought I'd show a couple up to date pics of my boy Cairo. Haven't shown any in awhile.
Took him for a walk at one of the local baseball fields today and he Houdinied his way out of his harness. Gave me quite a scare, but I chased him down and caught him. He just "bee-bopped" his way across the street as if to think, "I got loose, now see if u can catch me".

What an adorable dog, and I like the angelic pose, lol…. my Lola will escape on me, too, and while my heart is beating a million beats per minute, I find it hard to play it "cool" so that she doesn't run even farther away in the other direction!

Good pics! Oh yes, such an angel face would never do anything wrong or inconvenient for his parents!

Thank you. I know all about million beats a minute.

Yeah really, he loves to give the "I'm just an innocent Basenji" face. Then he turns into Hell Boy and rips the stuffing out of the couch pillows. All because I wasn't giving him 100% of my attention for a second. I wouldn't trade him for the world.
