Where did Nala come from? Can she stay there while you're out of town?
I did not have a good experience with Rover.com. Don't do it.
Can you find and make friends with another basenji owner in your area where you can take turns pet sitting? Maybe you can find local basenji owners on Meetup or Facebook?
My heart would break to leave her at a boarding facility or a vet although she'd probably be fine. I like the idea of a pet sitter staying at your home ONLY IF you can really train the pet sitter on several visits before leaving in August (not far away!!!)
Basenji and chow

Here is a picture of my sister's silver/black chow and a basenji they encountered at a walk on the beach. My sis said the basenji was just as aloof as her chow, but it kept on looking back to see where his family was. This beach is interesting as almost all of the dogs that go there are purebreds. Unfortunately, my sis did not talk to the basenji's owners - it would have been great to know who his breeders were.

Your sisters Chow is lovely, whats s/he called ?

Her name is Beatrice (not sure of her pedigree name). We also call her 'Miss Poo' because she acts like her poo doesn't stink - she is a real princess!
