I live in south jersey im interested in starting a club solely for Basenji's iv'e developed my own training methods through countless research i myself can train any stubborn one anyone has in one to two weeks let me know if your interested drop a thread

We are a family of 6 but if someone comes in the house he will take off then come back in to check them out. He does really like people. He plays quite a bit with other dogs and with the size family he's probably over socialized with the number of people my kids bring back and forth. LOL.. He seems to gravitate towards big dogs too which is pretty funny. I think he thinks he's bigger than he is. He really really loves to run so when we take him to the school field down the street he runs his heart out with the other dogs.

Our boys don't touch human food at home, when I put my dinner at the couch next to Buana or chaufuko they won't look up… 😃
Also when we aren't in the room they won't steal food from the table (thank god because they should be really fat already thanks to the cats and Ryan)
When it's on the floor, they will steal it 😃

Markie, I think when adding a basenji to an existing household, it is most important to just get out and visit with lots of breeders and meet their dogs. Some families of basenjis get along great with other dogs and others are not as good. You really just need to be up front about your expectations and do some visits to see how the dogs are. That way you find a breeder with the temperaments you like and they know what you need in a pup and can match the pup with your household.

What do you do if your dog has to go potty while on the plane?? My C3PO will get whiney if he has to go outside to relieve himself.
