Y'know, the one where a B does all those tricky dance moves? The only link I can find ("Dog Reflection") seems blank & doesn't work for me…

P.S. Any truth to the rumour that the dog in the video is really a border collie wearing a basenji costume, lol?

This was really funny. I could just see B's trying to decorate a tree. Hmmm….there would be a fight over the garland, all of the ornaments would be a chew toy/ball to chase around the house. There would be no lower limbs on the bottom of the tree and the presents (like mine) are missing corners of wrapping paper......

My Lola will smell something that is WAY too interesting for me (i.e. old doggie stuff in the grass), but for her magical moment, that smell is GOLD! BAMM! STOP THE PRESSES! HUNKER DOWN, Momma, cuz I am not moving!!!!

So, I wait, as patiently as I can, until Lola realizes that it's just a turd… no magic... well, unless I have to go to the bathroom and I need her to hurry… well, then I trick her and flick her leash, saying, "Lola! What is that? Get it!!!!!" 🙂

Just try and convince a trainer that doesn't do the "positive reward" or "treat based" training methods that their methods are not as effective.

The guy who installed our underground fence has since gotten into dog training. He tried to sell me his services when I ordered a collar for Daisy last year. When I asked if his training methods were click and treat based, he said "behavior modification". When I tried to discuss the benefits of the positive reinfocement methods that helped me with Duke, he scoffed that dogs should learn without bribery! Well - I ended the chat since I knew we disagreed.

And that is when you just "agree" to disagree and know that is one person you will never use…...

That's when you know you've accomplished something- when they look at YOU and not the treat. Miles still has some work. Lexi is pretty flawless. She learned it from our Dobie. 😉

It just takes consistency. And to be pretty stern when they "mess up"… although most of the time I just had to laugh. Especially after Miles would snatch it and then flop over. 🙂
