Your baby looks exactly like my "Harry" who I had to put down this past Monday. He had all characteristics of a Basenji, tho I am pretty sure he was a rat terrier/basenji mix. (I wrote about him a few years back on this link:
We had him from about 8 weeks old until may 15th at 7:30 am.
What a crazy guy. Handsome as all get out. (I always told him that if there was such a magazine as "Handsome Dog magazine", he would be on every cover. I think the reason I am so heartbroken is that he was so hard to bond with and my wife and I took care of him almost like one takes care of an autistic child.
Well, I know this is 4 years late...but I am sorry for your loss and hope you found another like your beloved baby.
This is a pic of Harry after he lost over 20 lbs because of kidney disease.

Actually they are not mine - they belong to a friend in Texas but thought puppies playing is always fun!

Here is my Portuguese Podengo Pequeno Inderia playing with Sarge the basenji had to add the tropical music cause the snow is just killing me.
So, so adorable..Love'em.
Thought you might enjoy the antics of the PPPsmooth puppies - I think they are around 4 months here. Sort of shorter basenji looking more long than square -
These are in Texas.
And if you are at a dog show look for the March Sight and Scent - I have a couple of ads in there for my pequeno and one of my bigs.
I read another post you wrote (this year) about the Portuguese Podengos and became curious as I saw that The Pequenos look a lot like the dog we are fostering. I was just wondering if you think she might be one. She was listed as a Chi/Basenji mix but with the help of the forum, we concluded that she looked corgi….that is until I saw pictures and videos of the podengos. Thanks!
I see some Beagle in there possibly, too!

That is what I thought too…..beagle!
The body and tail remind me of a Beagle and the head of a Toy Fox Terrier or Chi.
It was a treat watching those pups in action so thanks for sharing this video link with others also. Like to say I have few French Bulldog puppies and they have demonstrated to be very pleasing for children and elderly sue to their friendly nature and smooth temperament.
